Crisis Response Network

Crisis Response Network, is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals by Inspiring Hope and empowering transformation from HOPE to HEALTH through a continuum of crisis, referral and data services. Since 2007, CRN has been providing crisis call center services and in that short time has helped thousands of individuals and families get connected to the help they need. Additionally, in that short timeframe, CRN has grown to expand services to a 24-hour peer-run Warm Line, Serious Mental Illness (SMI) determinations, mobile team dispatches, crisis transportation services, emergency room-based assessments, Department of Child Services (DCS) rapid response and crisis stabilization services, telephone follow-up to those who need it, tragedy support lines, 2-1-1 community information and referral services, Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), Be Connected (a program supporting veterans, service members and their families), the Centerpoint for Hope Tragedy Response Vehicle and other in-kind services across Arizona.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

We can all help prevent suicide. The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals.

Terros Mobile Crisis

Our team supports adults, children, and families experiencing a mental health emergency. Terros Health Mobile Crisis provides assessment, intervention, and zconnection to ongoing care resources. All services are available to everyone at no cost. Our goal is to continue to promote safe and strong communities.

AHCCCS Crisis Hotlines

Crisis services are available to any Arizona resident, regardless of health insurance coverage. If you or someone you know is experiencing a behavioral health crisis, please call one of these national or local crisis lines:

StrongHearts Native Helpline

StrongHearts is a culturally-appropriate, anonymous, confidential service dedicated to serving Native American survivors of domestic violence and concerned family members and friends. By dialing 1-844-7NATIVE (1-844-762-8483), nationwide 24/7, callers can connect at no cost one-on-one with knowledgeable StrongHearts advocates who can provide lifesaving tools and immediate support to enable survivors to find safety and live lives free of abuse.

Arizona Coalition to End Sexual & Domestic Violence

The Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence was formed in 1980 so that concerned citizens and professionals could unite in a statewide organization to end domestic violence. In 2013, the coalition became the designated dual coalition to address both sexual and domestic violence thus becoming the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence.

StreetlightUSA

To inspire hope in young girls as they transition from Trauma to Triumph. StreetLightUSA envisions a world where survivors of child sex trafficking have an opportunity to dream again and live a life free of exploitation.

My Sister’s Place

Founded in 1985, we serve all victims of domestic violence and are one of only two confidential domestic violence shelters in the East Valley. When you come to our shelter, you will be provided with a private and comforting environment for your safety and recovery.

Fresh Start Women’s Foundation

Since 1992, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation has been on a mission to provide education, resources and support for women to positively transform their lives and strengthen our community. We envision a community where every woman reaches her full potential through achieving personal empowerment and financial self-sufficiency.

Sojourner Center

Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed lives by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence.

LGBTQI

Arizona Trans Youth & Parent Organization

We advocate for positive change in our local schools by providing training and educational sessions for teachers, administrators, and staff. We readily support initiatives in the community that aim to promote awareness of transgender issues. Our goal is to support the friends and family of transgender children directly by providing a safe space where they can find answers to their questions, and indirectly by pushing for societal change in creating a trans-inclusive environment for our kids.

AZ Trans Spectrum

Trans Spectrum of Arizona provides programming for transgender support and socializing. For more information about our groups, visit our support pages for the Trans-masculine, Trans-feminine, and Significant Others, Family, Friends and Allies. Don’t identify with the gender binary? We have a support space for gender fluid and gender non-conforming people called Gender Non-Conforming.

Phoenix Children’s Hospital Gender Support Program

We provide outpatient services that support the physical, mental and social health of gender expansive children and youth, and their families as they progress through gender identity development.

Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS

Mission: To serve individuals touched by HIV/AIDS through prevention, education, client-centered services, and coordinated care in collaboration with community partners.

One n Ten

Our mission is to serve LGBTQ youth and young adults ages 11-24. We enhance their lives by providing empowering social and service programs that promote self‐expression, self‐acceptance, leadership development, and healthy life choices.

LGBT National Help Center

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) National Help Center, founded in 1996, is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that provides vital peer-support, community connections and resource information to people with questions regarding sexual orientation and/or gender identity.Utilizing a diverse group of LGBT volunteers, we operate three national hotlines, the LGBT National Hotline, the LGBT National Youth Talkline, and the LGBT National Senior Hotline as well as private, volunteer one-to-one online chat, that helps both youth and adults with coming-out issues, safer-sex information, school bullying, family concerns, relationship problems and a lot more.

The Trevor Project

Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25.

Trans Lifeline

Trans Lifeline is a trans-led organization that connects trans people to the community, support, and resources they need to survive and thrive.

TransFamilies

TransFamilies.org is operated by people who are transgender or who have spouses or children who are trans or gender diverse. Our staff and volunteers have all spent time wrestling with their own doubt, confusion, elation, frustration, fears, and joys related to transitioning. We are here because we know the value of talking to and connecting with others who have been on a similar journey. We won’t tell you how your family should do this, but we are happy to share with you what we did—what worked for us and what didn’t.

It Gets Better Project

The It Gets Better Project is a nonprofit organization with a mission to uplift, empower, and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth around the globe. Growing up isn’t easy, especially when you are trying to affirm and assert your sexual orientation and/or gender identity. It can be a challenging and isolating process – but, the good news is, no one has to do it alone.

Q Card Project

At the Q Card Project, we believe that all queer/trans* youth deserve quality, sensitive healthcare that meets their needs, recognizes their agency, and empowers them to be active participants in their health. And we think the Q Card can help make this happen.

GSA Network

GSA Network is a next-generation LGBTQ racial and gender justice organization that empowers and trains queer, trans and allied youth leaders to advocate, organize, and mobilize an intersectional movement for safer schools and healthier communities.

PLAG

PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies. With over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters crossing multiple generations of families in major urban centers, small cities, and rural areas across America, PFLAG is committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed.

COLAGE unites people with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer parents and caregivers into a network of peers and supports them as they nurture and empower each other to be skilled, self-confident, and just leaders in our collective communities.

Family Acceptance Project

The Family Acceptance Project® is a research, intervention, education and policy initiative that works to prevent health and mental health risks for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) children and youth, including suicide, homelessness, drug use and HIV – in the context of their families, cultures and faith communities. We use a research-based, culturally grounded approach to help ethnically, racially and religiously diverse families learn to support their LGBTQ children.

Black Mental Health Alliance

Mission: To develop, promote and sponsor trusted culturally-relevant educational forums, trainings and referral services that support the health and well-being of Black people and other vulnerable communities.

Black Mental Wellness

The mission of Black Mental Wellness, Corp. is to provide access to evidence-based information and resources about mental health and behavioral health topics from a Black perspective, to highlight and increase the diversity of mental health professionals, and to decrease the mental health stigma in the Black community.

Equal Justice Initiative

The Equal Justice Initiative is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

Black Women’s Health Imperative

Mission: To lead the effort to solve the most pressing health issues that affect Black women and girls in the U.S. Through investments in evidence-based strategies, we deliver bold new programs and advocate health-promoting policies.

A wellness and cultural community for Black women navigating a compolicated world. It is a safe digital space to inform, uplift excellent, promote wellness, foster creativity and engage in thoughtful change.

The SIWE Project

The Siwe Project is a global non-profit dedicated to promoting mental health awareness throughout the global black community. The goal of the organization is to widen the public dialogue regarding the lived experiences of people of African Descent with mental illness. By providing opportunities for dialogue and the uplifting of new narratives and discourse, The Siwe Project aims to encourage more people to seek treatment without shame.

BlackLine provides a space for peer support, counseling, witnessing and affirming the lived experiences to folxs who are most impacted by systematic oppression with an LGBTQ+ Black Femme Lens.

Housing and Shelter

 

Arizona Housing Coalition

In the early 1990s, organizations seeking to end homelessness decided to work together to share knowledge and speak in a unified voice to bring more solutions to those who were impacted by homelessness. Over time, organizations focused on bringing more affordable housing to Arizona sought to amplify their efforts and began to collaborate as well. The Arizona Housing Coalition is now the largest housing stability advocacy organization in the state, with more than 200 member organizations, national partners and dedicated volunteers, all working together to provide every Arizonan with a safe, affordable place to call home.

Phoenix Shelter List

We provide a directory of shelters that provide assistance to the homeless. We do not directly provide aid ourselves, but provide local resources for you to find. Most major U.S. cities including Phoenix, Arizona, offer some type of shelter for persons in need. There are also thousands of local non-profit organizations that offer help We currently have listed all of the shelters we could find in Phoenix. We constantly are finding new shelters, sign-up here to receive an email alert as soon as we locate any new shelters in Phoenix.

Wildfire

Wildfire is a growing movement to end poverty. We advocate for fair practices. We collaborate on policy issues. We support community action initiatives. Beyond easing the effects of poverty, our efforts aim to ignite lasting change: to stop poverty before it starts. This is advocacy in action for an Arizona where all may thrive.

UMOM

Founded in 1964, UMOM is located in Phoenix, Arizona and is an innovative provider of shelter,housing and services for people experiencing homelessness.

Every night we provide safe shelter and supportive services for over 170 homeless families. We also offer nearly 300 units of affordable housing across the Valley, each with special Program Centers for residents.

Nutrition Assistance (formerly the Food Stamp Program) is Arizona’s program for the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Nutrition Assistance supports families to prevent under-nutrition in Arizona.

The Phoenix Children’s Center

We provide medical care for children from birth through 21 years of age. We are open 5 days a week year round excluding major holidays. We are able to assist you with your after hour emergencies by phone. We know parenting is a 24/7 job and we want help to be available to you 24/7.

Valley of the Sun YMCA
