Nicole Valdez, LCSW

Pronouns: She/her/hers

Are you in the early days of parenting? Do you question whether you love your baby the same as other women you know? Do you find yourself angry but aren’t sure why? Have you started to drink more than you used to and aren’t sure when that happened? Does your child behave in ways you don’t understand or see in the children of your friends? Are you worried about your relationship with your child?

If you identify with any of these questions, you have found the right place.

The focus of my practice is women in the pre- and post-natal periods, matrescence (transition to motherhood), birth trauma, parenting, parenting neurodivergent children (ADHD, ASD, PDA, etc.), and exploring/healing childhood attachment wounds. I also have a strong background in early childhood development including social/emotional development and the formation of the early attachment relationships. I work from an Attachment Theory perspective and rely heavily on developing a trusting relationship through which healing occurs.

I strive to offer you a space to put down your defenses and seek new insight into areas of your life in which you struggle. I am trained in Brainspotting to assist those who have experienced trauma. I am certified as an Infant Mental Health Clinician through the Harris Institute and enjoy working with moms and babies of all ages.

Some people come to counseling with set goals on which they want to work. Others simply want a dedicated space to talk thorough and process daily and/or life events. Whatever your reason for seeking counseling, I am here to listen, reflect, and allow your true self to emerge.
