It is incredibly nice to meet you! Let me know if you have heard this one before; Have you ever been told you manage your emotions well and seem “normal”? Despite being told that, are you still overwhelmed by the sights/sounds/smells/textures, expected to “read between the lines” in conversation, miss the social cues at work, school, or at social events and go home feeling misunderstood, alone, and ready to meltdown? Has this been a lifelong pattern for you that you have navigated alone?
Are you a parent who has seen their child struggle with school and/or making friends? Has it been difficult to help your child understand and navigate their strong emotions and feelings in healthy ways? If all of this is familiar to you as an adult or as a parent, then I’m here to help!
I work with children, teenagers, and younger/older adults. I use different types of therapy to support you in where you are at in your mental health journey. The first thing we will do is get to know one another at a pace that is comfortable for you, then we are going to focus on what you are good at and how that has helped you thus far in life. I tailor your support with values and strength based work with ACT. We will learn and explore emotional awareness/balance with DBT. I will support you in reprocessing distressing past experiences with EMDR based on attachment and bodily awareness. For children, we will create a safe and fun space where they can learn what their emotions mean and how to navigate them through art and play.
